Membership and Access to the Library Policy |
- Taylor’s Library is primarily for use by students and staff members of Taylor’s University and Taylor’s College
- All students registered under Taylor’s University and Taylor’s College are automatically given library membership
- Student details are automatically uploaded to the Koha Library system from the CMS when they enroll at Taylor’s University or Taylor’s College
- Staff members from Taylor’s University and Taylor’s College are manually registered in the Koha Library system when a new staff member walks into the Library
- Only students with the following statuses in the CMS are eligible to enter the Library:
- Active
- Completed (Programme)
- Transferred (Institution)
- Entries to the Library and study rooms will be verified by the Library Entry Management System (with face recognition)
- Vendors, contractors, maintenance and housekeeping staff are to be registered in the Visitor Management System after being verified by the Library staff on duty at the Enquiry Desk
- Outsiders are not allowed to access and use the Library and study rooms. Students or staff should not bring in their friends or family who are not Taylor’s students or staff
- Taylor’s Alumni, Students from Other Universities, Adjunct and Visiting Appointees, Exchange students, Researchers or Library Guests may obtain prior consent from the Head Librarian via email to access the Library. Books and journals may be used on-site only, and borrowing is not allowed
- Any person who causes disturbance in the library and study rooms or who refuses to abide by library rules may be directed by library staff or security personnel to leave immediately
- The Libraries reserve the right to deny use to individuals who abuse library privileges or infringe the priority rights of Taylor’s University’s staff and students
- All library users are expected to be considerate of others and adhere to Taylor’s Library policies
